He discovered master builders known for their precision and artistry, and soon began importing bicycles crafted to his exact specifications. Built by respected workshops such as Torresini and Torpado, these bikes combined Italian heritage with modern performance.
That vision became Italvega—a brand that quickly earned admiration across the United States for its quality and character. For nearly a decade, Italvega bicycles represented the finest Italian craftsmanship. When production ended in the late 1970s, the name faded, leaving behind a beautiful chapter in cycling history.
Decades later, the story took a new turn.
When Entrepreneurship Meets Cycling
The revival of Italvega began when a Dutch entrepreneur, after years of success in the textile world, found himself drawn deeper into cycling. Riding a titanium bike sparked something—an appreciation for beauty, precision, and emotion. But he wanted more. He wanted a bicycle that stood out. One that made people turn their heads. One that felt personal.
During a business trip to Asia, a late-night search led him to Italvega. What started as a moment of curiosity became a night of research, discovery, and inspiration. The next day, the brand was in new hands, and the modern Italvega journey officially began.

The vision behind today’s Italvega is simple: create bicycles you’re proud to take out, again and again. A bike that gives you the same feeling as uncovering an old Porsche on a warm summer afternoon—something timeless, personal, and crafted with care.
With that mindset, Italvega has been rebuilt around emotion, design, and craftsmanship. Working closely with business partner Marcel de Zeeuw, we make every decision with one goal: to build bicycles that go far beyond function. Bicycles that create memories.

The paintwork is where Italvega truly distinguishes itself. Marcel oversees a carefully developed color palette, ensuring perfect harmony across the entire frame. The logo is never printed—it is hand-sprayed. Seat posts, stems, and even the smallest elements are painted with the same care.
Nothing is left untouched. Cable nipples are color-matched through special collaborations, such as with Scope. Together with Carbonherstel, an innovative method was developed to spray-paint wheel decals, so the entire bike forms a unified visual composition.
The result is a look that mass-produced bicycles cannot achieve.

Italvega believes that a bicycle is part of a larger experience. That’s why the brand partners with companies that share the same values. Clothing from Isadore, skin protection from Pelotan, shoes from Verducci—everything is chosen to complement the Italvega identity.
